Two large marinas hold over 1000 yachts and launches with many charter boat operators taking visitors out to cruise the beautiful harbour, swim with dolphins, or further away to the internationally renowned deep sea fishing waters.
Tauranga is the main centre of the Bay of Plenty, and it is one of the fastest growing cities in New Zealand. It’s a must-see must-do destination to anyone visiting this beautiful country.
Tauranga offers a number of fabulous art galleries. Visit the Tauranga City Art Gallery or pop down to the Incubator Creative Hub at 17th Avenue for a creative fix. This is THE artist's precinct where you will find a number of resident artists as well as numerous galleries, The Jam Factory Live music vene and a number of other secret gems. There are several historically significant areas to visit around the city and a number of beautiful parks to take a scenic walk around.
The waterfront area offers a number of great cafés, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.
Tauranga city is surrounded by the rural country towns of Katikati, Omokoroa and Te Puke which highlight the Bay of Plenty's strong agricultural presence and small town appeal.
And of course pop across the harbor bridge to visit NZ's #1 beach @ Mt Maunganui. Here you will find a number of boutique shops as well as a variety of eateries, nature walks and a soak in the saltwater hot-pools is a "must do" whilst staying in the region.
